That’s what the specialist told 19-year-old me on the day I was diagnosed with Von Hippel-Lindau Syndrome, and my future suddenly became very uncertain.
Life became a quest for fun and adventure, but it was masking a deeper craving for meaning and purpose. I soon learnt to immerse myself in what I loved, and found fulfilment in purpose-driven work. I struggled and clawed my way through life, against all odds. I was a risk-taker, a mover and a shaker, and I had many successes and failures in my early business life.
